How Can CFB Radiant Barrier Help Me?
Studies show that with the elimination of the “black-globe effect” using reflective metalized film insulation, many improvements are immediately apparent. In the dairy industry, an increase of as much as 10% in milk production has been noted. The study also reported that the only notable change made was the addition of reflective insulation. In a different study, a conception rate improvement of nearly 24% was observed. Broiler house feed conversions went from averages of 2.3 to 2.8 pounds of feed per pound of bird to 1.99 feed conversion. With the same amount of feed, birds were noted to gain more weight.

The “R” value depends on the number and size of the air spaces surrounding the Radiant Barrier and on the direction of the heat flow. Since Radiant Barrier is usually installed on top of existing mass insulation, its R-value is a moot point. It is Radiant Barrier’s ability to reflect heat that makes it such an energy saver. |
